Let me start by telling you about myself. For more detailed information please read the "About Our Company" link to your left. Here is the short version of how I started. I rehabbed four properties in my first 45 days in real estate with NO EXPERIENCE and NO MONEY. I say again, NO EXPERIENCE and NO MONEY. Here is another fact that you may find interesting, I have bought and sold OVER 200 properties in just two years. That’s right, I have only been in real estate for a little more than two years. My prior experience to real estate was working for corporations like Ford Credit, GTE, Verizon Wireless, Chase Bank and many other companies. Your probably saying "I must have worked in their real estate divisions". Nope, I actually worked in customer service, sales and collection areas for my entire corporate career. The only knowledge I had of real estate was from watching HGTV.
The market took a downward spiral without warning. If you watch the news or read the paper then you know what I am talking about. Here is the big secret to my success, adapting with the changing market. Until the market changed I was very thick headed and thought I knew everything. I was wrong and reality set in when I went from making about $80,000 EVERY month to bringing in only $30,000 a month. That is a HUGE $50,000 loss of income every month. Now please don’t cry for me, life was hard but I was able to get by on that. I started to become an education junkie. I traveled as far as Ohio to learn some of the newest and most successful methods to making money in today’s slow market. I have been to numerous seminars taught by some of the best real estate guru’s out there today. When I didn't have time for a seminar I watched their DVD’s and read their books. Once I was able to get over my ego I realized that the education I was receiving was priceless. Just to rewind a little (15 years), I have a GED and dropped out of school in the 9th grade. So my mentality was always figuring it out for myself. The slow market was probably one of the best things that could ever happen to me.
With all of the resources, tools and methods of real estate that are out there it is not about re-inventing the wheel. It is about learning the information, understanding the knowledge, applying it to be successful and making it your own. The best example is with McDonalds, they start new franchises all over the country every day and continue success because of their systems.
